Meet Stoney!
Hi there, Stoney Timmons. I’m a Crew Lead with the Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance, and Tribal member at Robinson Rancheria. Working with TERA has helped me build my traditional connection to the land and how I care for it. I look forward to burning and bringing back cultural fire. I look forward to getting everyone trained, and also to do the implementation of actual fire. My great grandma would burn the tules. That practice was not only taken away from us but was also lost. I don’t know anyone who burned outside of her, so bringing that tool back to Lake County, back to the Indigenous peoples here, and also to the community as a whole will show everyone that there is a good way to put fire on the land and that we don’t have to be scared of it.
